Nigeria is strengthening its capacity to manufacture diagnostics closer to the communities and public-health systems that need them. Through the NASENI–Troment manufacturing platform and Vision Biotechnology's technical collaboration, local capabilities are being prepared to support the NCheckUp Ebola Antigen Rapid Diagnostic Test when the next evaluation stage is formally authorised.

Outbreak readiness depends on the complete system surrounding a diagnostic: trained personnel, quality management, traceable materials, reliable logistics, regulatory alignment and authorised routes for evaluation and use. Local manufacturing can shorten supply chains, develop specialist capability, improve response planning and support sustainable access—provided that performance and quality requirements remain central.
Nigerian capacity, global diagnostic experience
The NASENI–Troment facility combines local industrial capability with Vision Biotechnology's experience in diagnostic manufacturing, technology transfer, production-line implementation and quality-system development. The objective is to build a repeatable platform that can support independent assessment and, only where the applicable authorities later permit it, responsible supply.
Evaluation is not approval
Participation in an evaluation pathway does not mean that a product has been approved by FIND, listed by WHO, registered by a national authority or authorised for clinical deployment. Those are separate determinations made by the relevant organisations under their own procedures.

NASENI–Troment and Vision Biotechnology are preparing the facility, records, quality controls and production planning required to support the next formally authorised step. Any future evaluation, procurement or public-health use must proceed through the responsible institutions and applicable national requirements.
